Kara Romano

Kara Romano is a South Florida native and graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a background in operations, business development, and finance. Her experience includes operations management in the telecommunications industry, sales within the building materials sector, and serving as Controller for a multi-location hospitality group, giving her a practical understanding of what it takes to build and grow successful businesses.

At Velvet Hammer, Kara works alongside entrepreneurs and portfolio companies to strengthen financial operations, improve efficiency, and help build strong businesses for the long term. She believes the best investment opportunities come from understanding businesses from the inside out and partnering with owners who are passionate about what they've built.

Outside of work, Kara's greatest joy is raising her three young daughters alongside her husband. As a family, they enjoy traveling, exploring new places, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. She also has a passion for fitness, home renovations, and taking on new projects—always looking for opportunities to create, improve, and build. Whether in business or in life, Kara believes the strongest foundations are built on integrity, hard work, and lasting relationships.
